Build Links the Easy Way with Trackbacks

Building links with other bloggers is all about networking and being social. One of the easiest ways to do this is by utilizing trackbacks. Trackbacks are essentially remote comments on another’s blog, and are incredibly easy to set up. These comments are quick and easy to put into action, and allow you to build a network of relevant links in very little time.

To start putting trackbacks to work for you, search for “your keyword + trackbacks” (without quotes) in Google.
This will allow you to find all the blogs in your niche that are using your target keywords and have trackbacks turned on. The blogger must have trackbacks enabled to appear in this list.

Next, set up your trackback post. Write a short post in your Wordpress blog with a direct link to the post you’ve chosen to comment on. Link directly to the post you’re writing about, and make sure you’re making a relevant and insightful comment. The blogger you’re linking to must  approve the trackback before it goes live, so be sure that you’re providing high quality content that they’ll want to see on their blog.

Then use the permalink trackback field in Wordpress to add the URL of the post you’re commenting on. By filling in this field, you’re telling Wordpress to ping the owner of the other blog when your post is published. This is their cue to accept the trackback, publishing the content you’ve written on both of your sites.

Trackbacks are a win-win proposition for both parties involved. You gain a relevant backlink for your target keywords, and the blogger you’ve linked to gets a review of their post and a backlink, as well. This method can be extremely useful in your link building campaign. The key is to provide high quality, on topic content that both your readers and the other blogger’s readers can benefit from. Over time, the process
becomes easier and easier, and you’ll soon be able to turn out a high quality trackback post in no time at all.

Congratulations – you’ve added a new skill to your link building arsenal. Now you can begin putting the power of trackbacks to work for you! This quick and easy method will supercharge your link building efforts.

5 Tips to getting backlinks

Have a blog? What is the purpose of your blog? Making
money, sharing ideas, online diary? Whatever the
purpose of your blog is, you need readers, right, or
else what is the point in writing all of those blog
posts?

Few months ago, I stumbled across one very good blog,
full of great ideas and resources. For my own interest,
I decided to check the traffic rank of the blog at
Alexa.com. To my surprise, the blog was unknown even to
Alexa.com! What was wrong? Then, I tried to check the
backlinks on Google; not a single link was received by the
blog. That reminded me of the importance of link
building.

No matter how great your blog is, nobody will read it
if no one finds you. And to make people find you, you
need links, it is that simple. Let’s take a look at the
5 easy ways you can increase you backlinks:

Tip No 1 – Build Your Presence on Forums

I like this method. It is quick and easy. Basically,
all you need to do is answer people’s questions on
forums related to your expertise and put some
signatures referring to your blog at the end of the
post.

Tip No 2 – Write Article

It has been said that content is king. Write as
much content as you can, and spread it across various
article directories, or even better, give the article
for free to newsletter publishers to put in their eZines.
You might not get paid first, but the
authority figure you would become would pay you off
eventually many times.

Tip No 3 – Get Links from Directories

Getting links from directories is easy and fast. Some
of the best directories out there are free. But if you
have some budgets, it is advisable to pay for several
high rank directories. In that way, the big search
engines will acknowledge your blog’s presence and your
blog will start to show up on various search engine
results.

Tip No 4 – Build Friendship with Fellow Bloggers

Build friendship with fellow bloggers who have the same
expertise as you. Remember that two are better than
one. You can find blogs with related topics through
Google or Technorati! Chances are that there are
thousands of blogs that have the same subjects, which
in turn means thousands of potential backlinks for you!

Tip No 5 – Use Viral Marketing

Last but not least; use viral marketing. What does
it mean? Create something unique! Giveaway a lot of
free stuff that your readers would find helpful! When
people like your blog they are more than willing to
tell their friends, families and co-workers about you
and your blog.
